The concept of the game: Contraction

In each episode, Dexter and Kita are on the hunt to locate and contract the next virus of the 10 original unmutated viruses of the universe.

As players watch each episode, they need to correctly interpret Dexter and Kita’s adventures and find clues that point to which item NFT cards they need to hold to protect them from the next virus.

As Dexter contracts each virus, he experiences a range of side effects. To protect Dexter against those side effects and keep Dexter as healthy as possible, players need to watch each episode, find clues, correctly interpret Dexter's & Kita's adventures, and trade to hold the cards they think they’ll need to help him in his journey. Basically, fans of the cartoon can play as the star of the show.

How can I play?

To play the game, you’ll need to mint a Contraction NFT pack on our site, asteroiddiner.io or on an existing marketplace. This is still to be determined. We’re working on it.

What does a Contraction NFT pack contain?

A minted Contraction pack contains 5 NFTs; 1 dynamic PFP NFT character card and 4 NFT item game cards.

What is the PFP character card?

The character card represents "your Dexter", the star of the show. Our character cards are like any PFP NFT. Meaning they come with different attributes that range from common to super rare. However, our PFPs are dynamic and change during every episode based on play. One dynamic character card comes in each Contraction NFT pack.

What are the game cards?

The game card NFTs consist of 70 different item. Each individual NFT item card has 400 copies resulting in a count of 28,000 NFT playing cards in the game. 4 NFT game cards come in each Contraction NFT pack.

Each individual NFT game card has 400 copies?

To answer that, we want to first talk about how the game is played. Players will start with 4 random game cards. As each episode airs, they’ll need to correctly find/interrupt things in the cartoon. This can range in a variety of different things:

  • Solving a riddle

  • Pausing the episode at the right time

  • Playing part of the episode in reverse

  • And tons of other things we don’t want to give away. Nice try though ;)

Once a player thinks they understand which cards contain items Dexter may need to protect himself from the next virus, they can buy them as well as sell the cards that they don’t think hold the items Dexter needs. For example, If I think Dexter needs a card, why would I sell it? Here’s the thing. Contraction isn’t that easy. The cartoon won’t tell you which exact item card you need to hold. Some players will think it's this card or that card. It’s all based on how you interrupt things, what you can find or solve, and what you think is important or not.

So about the 400 copies of each game card. There are that many copies of each game card as it’s very possible that many players will think it’s a specific card. And we want there to be enough available. Contraction is limited to 7,000 players. And 28,000 game cards. However, we will mint an additonal 10 copies of each item card and put them on various markets right before the game starts. This will allow you to trade cards that you think Dexter needs, even if other players aren't selling them at the moment.

How many packs are available to mint?

Contraction will have 7,000 packs available.

When does the game end?

The game ends at the airing of the season finale. The goal is to keep your Dexter as healthy as possible. This comes into play in Season 2. We don't want to share why it's so important to have a healthy Dexter, but trust us, you'll need all the strength you can get.

How much will a pack cost?

As we are very early in the process, and cartoon animation is a time-consuming process, it’s too early to put a price on the mint.
